"The Lowland Maya Area: Three Milennia at the Human-Wildland Interface" was published as a result of the last 10 years of research done in El Eden, Ecological Reserve and other areas of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Integrating history, biodiversity ethnobotany, geology, ecology, archaeology, anthropology, and other disciplines, "The Lowland Maya Area" covers virtually every aspect of the biology and ecology of the Maya Lowlands and the many ways that human beings have interacted with their surroundings in the last tree thousand years.
